Aradrihl: Of High Importance
The Woodsguard is an the ancient spirit of a forest that was awakened thousands of years before men began their journey across the stars. He is the result of a tragic battle between the last two groups of the intelligent species that inhabited Aradrihl before the planes combined. The two groups of the species were loathed enemies, with the fairer more enlightened race always attempting to raise their lower brethren to their standards of living, however the lower race despised them for it, and always threw away the kindnesses of fair ones. The lower race was in many ways physically superior to the fairer race, they were stronger, faster, and could out-breed the native equivalent of rabbits, but they lacked the ability to do any more intricate tasks, such as reading, building, or swimming. These minor conflicts went on between the two races, gradually escalating, until it eventually became all out war. The entirety of the species was involved in the conflict, and they each ate away at each other, until there was only a ghost of their people left. This last remaining force was brought into final conflict in a plain, where they slaughtered each other; men, women, and children were all in the melee. The result of the battle was the end of the species; they few that remained of them were not enough to repopulate, and they quickly faded away.
It was the strife from that last battle, the final doom of an intelligent species, that brought the WoodsGuard to creation. The WoodsGuard watched over the plain as a million saplings burst forth from the ground from seeds a thousand years dormant, awakened by the tide of blood.
The WoodsGuard has watched the forest for ten thousand years, helping those that would preserve life as it could; while slowly becoming less incorporeal as the seven planes combined, allowing former spirits such as itself to exist in the materiel world.
